Anxiety is a common occurrence with children today. When left untreated, anxiety is one of the strongest predictors of depression later in adult life. Childhood fears and worries are normal, but excessive worrying and the cycle of behaviors that follow, adversely influence a child’s learning, social development, and family life. WHAT a child worries about, however, is less important than HOW children and parents deal with it and as a result risk getting trapped in the process of anxiety. The goal of the ISEE summer institute is to bring together teachers, resource teachers, school professionals and administrators for a 4 day retreat that will allow a deep understanding of the core SEL principles, the latest research in the field, the ISEE CS3 framework and how it can enhance your current school practices. Come and learn, share and experience how to bring SEL into your classroom so it can support you as a teacher, your students as learners and your school as an administrator.
Topics will include:

how to connect and nurture your own inner compassion and how it impacts your group
